Join us for a day of picture taking at Gropius House with New England School of Photography graduate and professional photographer, Yorgos Efthymiadis. The day will include a museum tour and an illustrated slide talk to demonstrate techniques for making pictures of a 3-D space for a 2-D format. Using the Gropius House as inspiration, participants will shoot interior and exterior photographs, then select their “best” to share in a feedback session. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Lincoln Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
Bring a brown bag lunch and a digital camera/phone with a connector to download images. Group size is limited. Admission: $25 for Historic New England members and Lincoln residents, $30 for nonmembers. Registration required. Purchase tickets online or call 781-259-8098 for more information.
Yorgos Efthymiadis is a Fine Art and Architectural photographer from Greece who resides in Somerville. He has always been drawn to buildings, their shapes, their forms and materials, always questioning the perspective and viewpoints. Using light to illuminate their unique character, he often wonders how architects imagined their constructions and frequently reduces architecture to pure geometry.
