Support Lincoln schools and have fun making your own unique scarecrow on Wednesday, Oct. 7 from 1-4 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Stonegate Gardens (339 South Great Road, Lincoln). For $15, Stonegate provides hay, twine, stakes, markers, hot glue for your embellishments, and instructions. You provide a pillowcase for the head, old clothing, and accessories.
Stonegate Gardens generously donates all proceeds to benefit Lincoln schools. Participants may direct their contributions to the Lincoln PTO to support student enrichment activities in the Lincoln School, or to the Birches School, an independent elementary school offering a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) approach centering on nature-based thematic units designed to cultivate academic and social development.
Lincoln School students can choose to display their scarecrow on the school campus until November 1 and automatically enter them in the town-wide scarecrow-building contest that’s part of the Scarecrow Classic 5K fundraiser for the Lincoln Land Conservation Trust on October 18, or they can take their scarecrow home.
